Chioma Izamoje, Direct Support Professional (DSP)
"My name is Chi. I started working at Woodbridge Home in September 2024 as a DSP after hearing about the job vacancy from a family friend. Although I have had other jobs, this is my first time working in a healthcare facility. Since I am in nursing school, I wanted to familiarize myself with healthcare settings, which is why I chose to work here.
I love this job because it has helped me grow both professionally and personally. Personally, it has improved my communication skills—I am a very quiet person and don’t usually communicate much with others, but since starting this job, I feel more confident, thanks to the wonderful management. Working at Woodbridge Home has also taught me about teamwork and empathy for aging individuals.
During my free time, I enjoy spending time with close friends and family, working on school assignments, or simply relaxing on my own."
